With 120 editions in 14 languages in 65 countries, he has more than 1.4 million books in print. In 2011, Black received four awards for his books. The Moral Courage Award for his work in the War Against the Weak was bestowed by The Initiative for Moral Courage at San Diego State University, The Leichtag Family Foundation, The Common Experience as part of a consortium including the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice, The Center for Ethics in Science and Technology, KPBS, USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education, and Thomas Jefferson School of Law. A Service Award was bestowed by Moriah College in Sydney, Australia for his work in Nazi Nexus. A second service award was issued by Hadassah Ahavat Yisrael for his work in the book The Farhud. The "Drum Major for Justice Award" was also issued from North Carolina Central University for his book War Against the Weak. In 2006-2007, Black's book Internal Combustion was honored with four major editorial awards: Best Book of the Year from American Society of Journalists and Authors, a Rockower Award for Best Investigation of the Year from the American Jewish Press Association, a Green Globe, and the Thomas Edison Award. In 2005, Black won the World Affairs Council's award for the Best World Affairs Book for Banking on Baghdad, and the Doña Gracia Medal for Best Book of The Year. In 2003, he received the top two editorial awards from the American Society of Journalists and Authors: Best Book of the Year for IBM and the Holocaust and Best Article of the Year for "IBM in Auschwitz" in the Village Voice.
